The Story Behind The Print By Louise Hill… My Second In A Series Of ‘Limited Edition’ Prints, I Wanted To Create A Collection Of Images In A Delicate Blue Colour Palette Based On A Luxurious Chinoiserie Style. Each Print Is Hand Painted With Gold Ink As A Final Finishing Touch. As A A€˜Generic’ Asian Design, I Have Included Imagery From Several Countries Including Singapore, China, Japan, India, Hong Kong And Bali. These Are All Places I Have Lived In Or Travelled To And Provide A Constant Source Of Inspiration For My Artwork.Continuing On From The First Limited Edition Print, Chinoiserie In Neutrals, I Created A Silk “Window Frame” For The Images To Sit Within Inspired By The Ornate Wooden Screen In My Old Studio. I Really Enjoyed Painting The Two Main Feature Panels And The Individual Design Elements. These Include The Main ‘Chinoiserie” Botanical Wallpaper And The Birds, Gold Fish And Butterflies In Gold Inks. The Print Is Complex And Highly Detailed And I Have Featured Many Curated Pieces, Accumulated And Collected Over Several Years Which Make Up Ita€™S Story. I Love The Old Chinese Packaging Label From An Embroidered Box Which Is Faded And Worn Showing It’S History, The Vivid Teal Hand Painted Tea Set, The Vintage Indian Sari Fabrics And The Pieces Of Porcelain Bought At The Floating Water Markets In China.Hand Finished In Gold Ink – This Is A Limited Edition Of 100 Prints Only – Printed In Archival Giclee Inks Onto 310Gsm German Hahnemuhle Etching Paper.
